My theatre experience began as a child through ABC Broadcasts of Gilbert and Sullivan musicals, such as Pirates of Penzance. Through primary school and high school I studied drama, and performed in several shows, before experiencing the work of Matthew Lutton, a renowned emerging Australian Director who's version of Animal Farm utilised a highly stylised, physical form of theatre unknown to me. Since then, I have sought to develop and explore storytelling in theatre with a stylised phyiscal form, unique to theatre and live performance.
Over the last few years I have worked closely with Danny Parker the Director of Productions at Hale School, developing my skills and understanding of theatre as a director, and writer whilst exposing my ideas to University criticism and study.
I see my strengths in theatre as a Director with an aptitutde towards physical movement and stylisation, with highly stylised design and use of technology, particularly lights and sound. As a writer I am developing my own voice, mentored by Danny Parker through the words of Steven Berkoff and Philip Rudin.
