The Stange Case of Jekyll and Hyde
Adapted from the book by R.L. Stevenson
redfoot youth theatre
The chilling tale of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, brilliantly retold in a stunning piece of physical theatre.
This piece was inspired by the variety of different interpretations of this classic novel since its publishing, and my aim was to combine my favourite moments and ideas from other versions into my own cohesive vision of the story. I remained fairly true to the novel, adding a romance storyline inspired by early film versions of the story.
The style of the production was developed with the ensemble over several workshopping sessions. The process was very collaborative, often allowing many members of the company the freedom to solve creative problems and to work independently towards my final vision.
- Adapting and realizing my own theatre productions based on classic texts, such as The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde.
- Directing student actors
- Leading workshop sessions to explore and develop the style of a performance.
